Although the church gathering is not the central focus of our Kingdom work, it is still a vital part of The Vision to transform the community through the love, power, and grace of Jesus Christ. We believe that it is important to gather together as a group of believers, but we do it a little differently than most churches in this community and beyond. First and foremost, we believe in completing the body of Christ and not competing with the body of Christ. Thus, if you are currently attending and engaged in a local church, stay put. We are not interested in moving engaged, passionate Christians from one church to another. We are not into "church shopping" - do that at your local mall. But, if you are not engaged in a local church and/or are unsure about what it means to be a passionate follower of Jesus Christ, please come! We believe you can belong before you believe.
Secondly, we are a little different than most churches because our gathering actually takes place in our coffeeshop and is almost 100% video-based, including worship and teaching. We believe that people in today's world are hard-wired to technology and will find our environment unique, comfortable, and engaging, allowing each person to worship and seek God in their own way. We are also video-based which allows to us to reach people through a regular online experience during the week, particularly those that are unable to attend our Sunday morning experience.
We are a little different in the type of language we use in our gathering. Instead of telling others that our "service" begins at 11am Sunday morning, we tell people that our "experience" begins at 11am. We work very hard to create an experience that is based on prayer, planning, and excellence that focuses on the entire church "experience" - dimmed lights to allow people to worship comfortably; adequate worship volume that allows "non-singers" to sing passionately (and loudly) without being self-conscious or disruptive to others; engaging videos that keeps the attention of people, while also challenging their belief systems. In general, we believe people will "experience" the presence of God when the come to The 611 Experience.
Lastly, unlike most churches, we do not offer separate kid's and youth programs during our Sunday experience or anytime during the week. We believe in an inter-generational spiritual model, so children of all ages are welcome to attend The 611 Experience with an adult. If this model makes people feel uncomfortable, we are happy to recommend local churches that offer awesome ministries for kids and youth. Again, we are here to complete, not compete. We recognize that our church and ministry can not do it all, so we stay focused on awesome worship and teaching on Sunday mornings and building relationships at 611 Bakehouse throughout the week.
Times The 611 Experience: Sunday mornings in the coffeeshop @11am. Please come join us!
